Winning Entry – RAIC | EP Logo Competition
The winning logo in a national competition to brand the Emerging Practitioner program of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. RAIC | EP (IRAC | RP)
This logo intended to blend both the English “EP” (Emerging Practitioners) and French “RP” (Relève Professionelle) into an architectural form with symbolic meanings. The ‘E’ forms a cubic foundation from which the P and R ’emerge.’ The leg of the ‘R’ points outward and onwards.
The solid fills of the ‘P’ / ‘R’ allow the logo to take on many coloured variations purpose-chosen for specific events, while the thick open lines of the rest of the logo speak to a more modern / progressive characteristic stylistically.
Quote from the announcement:
“The jury felt that this design embodied the spirit of the emerging practitioners, evoking professionalism and integrity in a unique, dynamic design. The jury was also impressed with the strong sense of equality/bilingualism portrayed through the blending of the French and English names into a unified logo.”
